would you like to take some time out for yourself? to be able to put the phone down and switch off? well we are all about stepping out of your every day commitments and making some time to be amongst like minded people who want to be present and have an inspirational time!

as well as creating a fun and creative space to be away from it all, the aim of this 4 week workshop is to teach you the basics of how to handle porcelain… how to take a design from concept to completed piece. there will be discussion on how to hand build, how to best utilise tools and found objects and the art of illustrating and painting greenware ready to be glazed and fired in a kiln…

you will receive an email prior to the start of the term encouraging you to start conceptualising what it is you want to achieve and recommending reference materials you could access. you will also be asked to bring found objects or inspiration to the initial class as well

the aim is for each student to leave with between 2-6 small completed pieces, whether it be a vessel, a ring, a strung necklace or something of your own design…

the workshop will be held in the ichimu studio in torquay and the cost includes all materials & firing. you will definitely be able to do the same at home with the techniques you learn in the workshop. (firing can be booked as needed if you decide to create at home)

no previous experience is required

places are limited to 8 students
